Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

HiveCompanion ("we", "us", "the app") is a mobile application for beekeepers. We take your privacy seriously, and we've built the app so that we simply don't need your personal data in order for it to work. This policy explains what that means in practice.

2. Data we collect

We do not collect any personal data. HiveCompanion is an offline-first app: everything you record — apiaries, hives, queens, inspections, harvests, treatments, notes, dates and any GPS coordinates you choose to enter — is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. This data never leaves your phone through HiveCompanion.

3. What we do not do

• We do not require an account, email address, phone number or any form of sign-up.
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
• We do not display advertising.
• We do not sync your data to any cloud service.
• We do not share, sell or rent your data — we simply don't have it.

4. Third-party services

HiveCompanion uses RevenueCat solely to manage the one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited hives. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user identifier and information about the transaction (product, receipt, platform). RevenueCat does not receive any of your beekeeping data. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

The actual payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details.

5. Location data

HiveCompanion does not access your device's GPS automatically. If you choose to record a latitude and longitude for one of your apiaries, you enter it manually and it is stored only on your device, just like the rest of your beekeeping records.

6. Website and cookies

This website (hivecompanion.app) does not use cookies, does not use analytics, and does not track visitors. No information is stored in your browser by us, and no third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

7. Children's privacy

HiveCompanion is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because all of your data lives on your device, you are fully in control of it. You can delete individual records inside the app at any time. Uninstalling HiveCompanion removes the database and all associated data from your device. There is no server-side data for us to retain or delete.

9. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar laws)

Since we do not collect, store or process any personal data about you, most data-subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction) do not apply to us in a meaningful way. 10. Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If the change is material, we will also communicate it clearly inside the app.
